Automatic teller machines (ATMs) offer a convenient way to access all your accounts without having to go into a branch. You can access banking information as well as perform transactions on ATMs.

  • Withdraw a minimum of TZS 5,000 and up to your daily card limit

Cellphone Banking


Your cellphone is more than just a telephonic device, it has become a device to do safe, easy and convenient mobile banking.

Why you need this

With Cellphone Banking you can bank wherever you are, whenever you want. Anyone on Vodacom or Tigo network with any cellphone can use it. There are no complicated downloads or special SIM requirements. Registration is FREE.

  • Buy prepaid airtime for yourself or someone else - Vodacom and Tigo
  • Buy prepaid airtime for people roaming in other countries - Vodacom and Tigo
  • Check balances on one or all of your accounts

How to register for Comprehensive Cellphone Banking

You can register for Comprehensive Cellphone Banking on any of the following channels:

  • On your cellphone by dialling *150*99*321# and selecting the 'Upgrade' option
  • Visit any FNB branch

To complete the registration process for Comprehensive Cellphone Banking you will need to:

  • Select a five-digit Cellphone Banking PIN (MOPIN) that will be used to log into Cellphone Banking
  • Follow the prompts provided

  • Registration for Cellphone Banking is FREE of charge
  • Standard network operator charges apply

How to qualify

You will require one of the following qualifying transactional accounts for Cellphone Banking

  • Smart Account
  • Personal Cheque Account

  • View your accounts in the applicable currency
  • View the real-time balances of all your FNB accounts
  • View up to 65 days of transaction history on certain accounts
  • View and download transaction history in real time
  • Send a payment advice to any email address, local fax or cell phone number
  • Cancel ATM cards that have been lost or stolen
  • Use inContact, a messaging service that alerts you via email or cellphone to all activity on your accounts
  • Purchase airtime
  • Submit requests to stop cheques
  • Set up and maintain your recipients online
  • View a list of public recipients
  • Receive payment notifications by SMS, fax and email

Once you have registered for Online Banking and created your profile, you can add other users to your profile and assign various permissions to these users such as view permissions and transacting limits. You have full management of users as you can add, modify and delete their details on your profile. In this way, people you appoint as users such as family members or staff members in your business, can view and transact on Online Banking.

  • Online Banking offers a secure environment with cutting edge security features. These include card and PIN authentication when you register and notification when you login including a unique One Time PIN (OTP) that is sent to you instantaneously via SMS or email

  3. Be over the age of 18
  4. New FNB clients will need to undergo a 'know your customer' (KYC) check at any of our FNB branches. FNB has specific duties to prevent money laundering. One of these duties is to perform a KYC check on all our customers.
